Nick works in a hybrid chef and nutrition role. He will be a Registered Dietitian in the coming months. You might see him out at our markets, providing cooking demonstrations and handing out free samples. Nick develops recipes that highlight our farmers and their products in a way that is both nutritious and accessible. He is working to create new resources to help BREADA develop and grow its nutrition education programming. Outside of work, Nick enjoys fitness, gardening, cooking, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
Nick has a Master’s of Science in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine from the University of Western States and a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from LSU. He has several years of experience working in and managing kitchens, as well as some experience in clinical research.
Kay as Main Street Market Manager oversees daily operations of River and Roots Market while acting as BREADA’s liaison for market vendors to ensure a welcoming environment for customers, vendors, and employees.Â
Kay has been in the service industry for over a decade. She has several years of experience in leadership roles and has earned multiple service related certifications. Kay’s family has a background in farming, and she is deeply committed to protecting the environment and giving back to the community. She strives to succeed in BREADA’s mission of promoting local farms, food access, and sustainability within Main Street Market.
Drew has been an integral part of our farmers market for over a decade. As Market Coordinator, Drew handles all logistical aspects of our markets, including setup, takedown and on-site operations. During peak season, Drew ensures the transport of produce and materials to our seasonal market at the ExxonMobil YMCA in north Baton Rouge.
You'll often see Drew walking the length of the market, engaging with our vendors and the community to ensure a seamless market execution. Drew is often the first to arrive at our markets and the last to leave, but you'll never see him without a smile on his face.   Â
