Caramelized Turnips


  • 3 lbs turnips
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3-4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp capers or chopped Kalamata olives
  • zest of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp chopped parsley
  • pinch of salt
  • pepper to taste


  1. Preheat oven to 400ºF.
  2. Peel & thinly slice turnips. Cook them in batches in olive oil over medium heat for about 10 min or until caramelized.
  3. Finish the turnips in a 400-degree oven for about 10 more minutes. Quick, easy, delicious.
  4. Finish with a little salt & a lot of black pepper.
  5. Serve with a mixture of the garlic, parsley, capers or chopped olives, lemon zest and lemon juice.
  6. So delicious you will want to go back for more!
