Are you ready to make Mother’s Day extra special this year? The market has got you covered! Not only do we have the freshest produce in town, but we also have a variety of unique gifts and treats that will make any mom feel loved.

This week, Mon Jardin Farm and Cicada Calling Farm will be bringing their beautiful blooms to the market. Whether you’re looking for a classic bouquet or something more unique, you won’t be disappointed with their offerings.

But that’s not all! Teacher Appreciation is just around the corner, and we’ve got some great gift ideas for the educators in your life. Check out Farm Life’s goat milk soap gift baskets and Cactus & Succulent’s adorable plants.

See you there!

Volunteer at the Market!

We need your help! We are in need of volunteers to help us with our visitor count taking place on Saturday, May 20th. There will be two shift options, so you will still be able to shop at the market before or after! If you are interested in receiving all volunteer communications, please email allie@breada.org. Please use this link to sign up for the visitor count and any other days you would like to give back to the market!

You might know BREADA as the nonprofit behind the Red Stick Farmers Market, but did you know we also have a farm to school program (and much more)? Our 225Gives campaign this year was focused on just that this year; we aimed to raise funds to support the expansion of Farm Fresh Kids.

These donations will help us maintain gardens at local schools, offer hands-on tastings and cooking lessons for elementary students, and bring a farmers market experience to more than 1,000 kids. Thank you to all who donated!

Nutrition Corner

Carbohydrates are an essential macronutrient that provide our bodies with glucose that is used as a readily available source of energy. Fruits, vegetables, and whole grains like brown rice, oats, and whole grain bread are types of carbohydrates that are good for you. They provide many types of vitamins, minerals, and fiber that promote good health.

Focus on the quality of your carbs over quantity. There is no shortage of good carbs that you can find from all of our produce vendors at the market! Grab some fresh berries for your oatmeal, and vegetables for your whole grain pasta or rice bowl!
